Background

Where I come from

Fifteen years in emergency medicine teaches you to think quickly. It also shows you, over and over, what happens when metabolic disease goes unmanaged for a decade. I spent most of my career treating the downstream end of that — and rarely got to be part of the work that prevents it.

That is a large part of why I moved into clinical research. For more than six years I worked on studies involving GLP-1 medications, metabolic health, and emerging therapies, alongside patients using both approved and investigational treatments. It gave me something most prescribers do not have: a view of these medications from inside the trials that produced the data everyone now cites.

“Every patient’s goals, lifestyle, and health history are different. The treatment plan should be too.”

The practice

Why I started The Shape Theory

Weight loss medication has become easy to obtain and difficult to do well. Plenty of places will ship you a vial. Fewer will review your labs, ask what you have already tried, adjust when something is not working, and stay with you through maintenance — which is where most of the real work happens.

I built The Shape Theory for the second kind of care. Every plan starts with your history, your goals, and your lab work, rather than a protocol that was applied to a thousand people before you.

My approach

How I practice

Evidence first

Recommendations grounded in trial data and clinical experience, not trends.

Individualized plans

Dosing and strategy built around your labs, history, and how you actually respond.

Honest expectations

Clear conversations about what a medication can and cannot do for you.

Long-term thinking

Maintenance planned from the beginning, not improvised after you reach your goal.

What to expect

My goal is straightforward: that you feel confident in your care, informed about your options, and supported at every stage — not just while the number on the scale is moving.
